Marriage Fears
Despite being a believer in love and happiness, I am still quite leery on the idea of marriage. I don’t really trust myself with anything, especially the idea that I’d have to be complacent with spending the rest of my entire life with one person. I might not be giving myself enough credit, but from my observations it seems as if a lot of people are giving themselves too MUCH credit. Anyway, I don’t think I’m pessimistic, just realistic… I do hope to be married sometime when I am mature and responsible enough to be able to enter into the give-and-take that I understand it to be. It’s funny, because some people think I am pretty mature… In reality I am just mature enough to know that I am not yet mature, which is more than a lot of people can say (* thinks about all those Hollywood star marriages gone wrong *).
So anyway, I overheard this conversation, which I thought was funny, at Ikea this past weekend.

I think the other way to look at this is that the man might be retarded, but he did go to the effort of doing something for his wifey that he thought she might want, all-the-while with a screaming post-fetus creature strapped in an embarrassing fashion to his chest.

Funny and true. Although, there were numerous times I did things whether or not my significant other said he wanted it because I knew he would later, so it was easier to take care of it then and there. Part of marriage is knowing what the other person really wants…whether or not s/he does….
Or the guy could just be a retard.

Dude, that makes it sound more like your his mommy than his gf, and despite what freud says: That just ain’t right… his think this is one of the reasona why I stay away from these “relationship” things. Picking a defacto brand of cigarettes is about all the comitment I can handle, heh heh.

Well I’m not sure if Faye is the authority on uhh marriage (no offense Faye!!). I do think that in those kind of relationships, sometimes you know your partner better than your know yourself but on the other hand it would get annoying if you just assumed you knew every time.
