Dad’s Army Pranks
Another story of my parent’s youth? Well everyone seemed to enjoy my Mom’s Christmas story from earlier, so I decided to put down one of my Dad’s “childhood” (he was age 20 here) stories. Dad tells me a lot more of his light-hearted stories than Mom, mainly because he enjoyed playing pranks and tricks on people throughout his life. This one above is one of his favorite stories to tell of his time in the French Army.
I have to say, panel #7 was my most favorite panel I’ve done in a long time. It was cracking me up the whole time. As always, all of my comics are true, including this one. I wonder if there are a couple of French dudes out there who remember getting chased through the woods by a crazy man with a rifle because they didn’t know the “password” to get into the base. Panel #2 kind of reminds me of something you would see in Beetle Bailey hahaha.

Hello auilix! I wish you all the best for the upcoming promotional WAR! at frumph.net! May the best one win! Without much doubt I will not be the lucky one: We Germans are only got at playing soccer… Well, at last my photographed superheroes will start their training lessons in the next Episode of Union of Heroes (www.unionofheroes.com)… Is it a coincidence that you start the “WAR!” with this story about your fathers army pranks? Or did you plan this? … Best regards from Dortmund, Germany! thirtyseven

I like it. Did I tell you to do this one or were you going to do it anyway? If you ever want to do a dad one again, I think you should go for the one where he stole an army car for a day or something.
…or that bedtime story that he always told us.

Also, I like how you decided to put them in berets.

I think I was going to do this one anyway. Next week I’m going to put up a suggestion by you though, so check it yo…. I didn’t hear that one about stealing an army car!?!? I don’t remember that at all!
And berets- I was asking dad for all the details (i just assumed they wore helmets, but dad said they always wore berets)…
