The holidays – hopefully your inner thoughts were more peaceful than mine. This is me btw, all the way up to the day before Christmas Eve. Then I went home home, and RELAXED like a mofo for several days. Ah. I feel so so so much better now. But I tells ya, my head was just about ready to asplode. Hope your holiday season was a lot calmer (may your returns also be peaceful!).

Sorry for the late-by-a-couple-hours-post! But I’m sure if you’re like me… Today you’re probably wrapping up loose ends and getting ready to relax for the holiday weekend. Take some time to consider wrapping your holiday gifts in some green wrapping paper, if you can find good news!

I don’t know why, but I am particularly happy with the way this page turned out.

And the Christmas tree at the switching station on the PATH between NY and NJ seems to be an annual thing in all the years I’ve lived in Jersey City I’ve seen it… Don’t know how old it is, but it’s a nice charm to see a fully glowing and decorated Christmas tree outside in the dark of the subway as you roll on by to work. I enjoy these little thing…

Or I was thinking of calling it “The Unwanted Toy.”

This is a story Mom recalled to me about a Christmas from her childhood. I don’t know why, but it seemed such a sad story! I felt sorry for Mom, Grandma, and the unwanted stuffed kitty cat… A teeny mistake might go a long way in a kid’s life. Anyway, I just wanted to record this holiday story in comic form.  It took me a while, and playing with the paneling and set-up to get this right, I’m still not sure if I got the mood down.  Anyway, many thanks to Mom, for telling me the story and giving me the Bulgarian text.

Sorry about the poor quality on this one – as the title suggests, it’s just a five minute comic I did while waiting for Mike to get out of the doctor’s office (we’re all falling apart, aren’t we?). Now you see why I used Photoshop to do a major portion of my comic!!

Anyway, as Bree and I were saying, this month can go suck an egg.  To all friends, family, and readers who are just hanging in there, things will get better soon!  Hope everyone’s holiday season is a lot more laid back than ours!

Okay, maybe this comic is a little more sad than it is. Well, I’d been planning and looking forward to this perfectly adorable one-eyed adult kitty for a while now. I met her in person, and she’s very beautiful, a little shy, but the foster says she’s a playful lap kitty. Unfortunately, due to my monetary circumstance, I’ve just come to realization that adopting or taking care of any kitty at this point in my life might not be such a good idea- I’m stepping up apartments soon, and paying a hefty fee for the broker and security, let alone the increased rent. The holidays and birthdays are sucking away my money too. And lastly, I just found out that my lame medical insurance won’t cover my four wisdom teeth (all impacted) that need to be removed. It’s all been a huge headache, but I had previously thought it would just be a busy time for me, not necessarily a fiscally troubling time… It’s not just the adoption fee that would be a problem, but the food, vet care, and all else that comes with owning a kitty again. I was just so looking forward to coming home to a kitty at my door.

Well… Maybe in the springtime.

Poor Mike. I’ve ogled over everything I’ve seen in the stores from Williams Sonoma items to X Box 360… And the stuff I hunger for is always super expensive. But he knows that, in my heart, all I really want for Christmas is a milkshake. Okay, maybe a couple of milkshakes. And a DQ Blizzard. And… well I could go on and on. But I won’t because now it’s dessert time. Yum.
